40-Hour Pre-Service
 
District Intern Orientation
Teach for America
Foreign Credentialed Teachers
Mandated 40-Hour Pre-Service Orientation for new teachers as a collaboration between LAUSD and United Teachers Los Angeles and included in the Collective Bargaining agreement. The audience includes  general education, special education, and substitute teachers.
A specialized training session is conducted for contracted and substitute teachers pursuing teaching positions in Special Education.  This session is an introduction to Special Education pedagogy, testing, and services.
 
Mandated 160-hour or 240-hour District Intern Pre-Service Orientation (CCTC Requirements). The audience includes  highly qualified:
24-Hour Foreign Credentialed Teacher Pre-Service Orientation for all teachers new to this country to insure their success. The audience includes credentialed teachers from foreign countries whose expertise is in the shortage fields.
Mandated 16-Hour Pre-Service Orientation for teachers from Teach for America.  The audience is alternatively certified single subject, multiple subject, and Special Education Teach for America teachers contracted with LAUSD.
Transition to Teach Program
Mandated 24-Hour Pre-Service Orientation for teachers from the Transition to Teach Program. The audience includes alternatively certified university interns pursuing credentials in the following shortage fields: Math, Science, Special Education
Tailored Special Education
Mandated Special Education training held 2-3 times a year for new LAUSD Special Education teachers (modified Consent Decree). The audience includes provisional and probationary teachers
